Must Try

The old Woodlands Town Centre food centre is gone. Its hawkers moved to Marsiling Mall in 2017, bringing seafood soup, laksa and porridge.
Hawkers who moved over from the demolished Old Woodlands Town Centre, led by Yan Ji's seafood soup and Ye Lai Xiang's laksa.
The food centre this page once described no longer exists. The Old Woodlands Town Centre, completed in 1980 beside the Causeway, gave street hawkers a permanent home in the early 1980s. It lost its bustle after the town's centre of gravity moved to Woodlands MRT in the 1990s, its low-rise blocks were chosen for en-bloc redevelopment in 2012, and it closed on 30 November 2017. The land went to the Woodlands Checkpoint extension. NEA had already begun building a replacement in 2016, at Woodlands Street 12 near Marsiling, and most of the stallholders made the short move to Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre. Familiar names came with them: Yan Ji Seafood Soup, Ye Lai Xiang Laksa and Hua Li Fried Carrot Cake were all at 4A Woodlands Centre Road in 2016 and are at Marsiling Mall today. For those who remember the old town centre, this is where its cooking continues.

How to chope a seat, order at the stall and pay, plus the unwritten rules locals expect you to know.
Our picks are Yan Ji Seafood Soup for seafood soup, Ye Lai Xiang Laksa for laksa, Sin Heng Kee Porridge for porridge and Lian Xiang Shu Shi for fried hokkien mee. Each is checked against recent food guides.
Each stall keeps its own hours, so there's no single opening time. Many open from breakfast and close by mid-afternoon or evening. The centre also closes for a few days of NEA cleaning each quarter; the notice at the top of this page shows the next closure.
It's at 4 Woodlands Street 12, Marsiling. Nearest MRT: Marsiling (NS Line), short walk.
Most people spend around $4–$10 per person for a main and a drink.
Not every stall is halal. Halal-certified stalls display a MUIS halal certificate, so look for it before you order.
